THE SEAWELL SW-15

RELIABLE BULK FRESH WATER
The SW-15 Buoy’s modularity provides for the addition of units, connected as needed, to increase the freshwater output. The SW-15 produces 15 cubic meters per hour or about a third of a million liters daily (MLD). Mooring the Buoy offshore reduces onshore civil works to a minimum, thus accelerating project start-up and ensuring a hassle-free and swift set-up process. The container-sized Buoy is movable if a change of location is needed.
EFFICIENT AND ENVIRONMENTALLY SENSITIVE
SeaWell has prioritized advanced environmental system design for the SW-15, from the anchoring on the sea floor to the freshwater output, reflecting our commitment to sustainability. The SeaWell SW-15 is not just the answer to a reliable water supply, but is also a proactive approach to environmental responsibility. Delivering only freshwater to shore eliminates the need for conventional land-based desalination systems with a brine disposal pipeline and its related ongoing pumping costs, which combined offer significant cost savings.
The SW-15 brine discharge is high above the sea floor, allowing for brine dispersion by gravity. This approach avoids the discharge of concentrated, heavy-density brine, which can result in toxic sea floor pooling, which is often associated with conventional desalination plants. Our commitment to sustainability and the system’s efficiency ensures you can invest confidently in our innovative system. The SeaWell SW-15 also stands apart by avoiding the transport and use of chemicals in its desalination process. Our novel process cleans the filters by periodically backflushing the system, precluding the need for chemicals and ensuring none exist in the brine outflow. This streamlined process reduces operating costs while minimizing environmental impact.

UNRIVALED ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND OPTIONALITY
The energy requirement is reduced since the Buoy only pipes freshwater rather than seawater to a shore water connection for coastal supply. In contrast, conventional desalination requires about double the volume of seawater, which is pumped to a shore desalination plant, while the residual brine from the desalination plant is pumped back to the sea, with the added cost of energy and a second pipeline. In addition to lower capital costs and operating expenses, SeaWell is also designed for energy supply optionality. SeaWell Buoys are adaptable to intermittent energy sources such as wind, solar, and marine renewable energy systems (pioneered by SeaWell Group Companies). The SW-15 seamlessly integrates renewable energy, optimizing efficiencies using direct current that is compatible with power supplied from renewable energy sources without the need for energy-inefficient AC/DC conversion, so you can rely on the SeaWell freshwater supply, even when the energy resource fluctuates.
EASY AND SECURE DEPLOYMENT
The SW-15 vessel has the advantage of a vertical tubular buoy configuration, allowing it to ride through extreme sea conditions with minimal motion and ensuring system operational stability. Mooring with a 3-point anchoring system provides safety, stability, and security.
In most deployments, the buoys’ freshwater is conveyed to shore through an easy-to-install small-diameter pipe with gravity anchors. At the shore, the pipe connects to the treatment module that is configured to match your specific water requirements.
